In 2016, Advance Golf was retained to manage Spanish Wells Country Club (SWCC) thru receivership and foreclosure. Previous ownership had left plenty of deferred maintenance, so with the help of the lender, our team went to work.
Various capital projects were accomplished in the clubhouse and on the golf course. Money was invested in new golf maintenance equipment, seed, sod, and new bunker sand. The clubhouse got an interior coat of paint, new ac. We also thru some parties and hired some great people. The stage was set, and considering the property had an unknown future, membership grew. Daily fee rounds and revenue grew simultaneously. The falling revenue trend had been reversed. The future looked bright.
The Results:
The team at Advance partnered with the HOA leadership to assist in purchasing the club out of receivership. The community of over 1300 homes now has a stable golf asset in their back yard. And guess what? The club received national recognition too. Voted # 1 Most Improved course in 2017 by contributors to golfadvisor.com.
